When You Reach Me
Pretty much the most perfect evocation I've ever seen of what it means to be a twelve-year-old girl from the inside out. The basic outline of the plot was easily guessable for an adult reader familiar with genre conventions (come to think, I don't think it would have surprised me that much at twelve, either), but it was still a delight to watch it unfold. I admit: I teared up at the end.
