The Hunger Games

The Hunger Games - Suzanne Collins Compulsively readable, but strangely flat. Careful plotting neatly removed any chance of moral dilemmas, and the world itself, while interesting, came across as a satire of consumerism rather than a real, solid place. I liked it better when it was called Battle Royale.
